Fresh sushi! I am becoming a sushi informed person, and certainly have Mt favorites. This place really impressed me. I liked the modern atmosphere of the restaurant with pallets hanging from the ceiling. Simple and elegant. Service was fast and they really liked to help the customers. Liked the Rock & Roll and the 205 Roll. Tasty. And the dumplings. OMG. Just tasty. Enjoy this place when you visit.

The presentation of the food and service from staff are top notch at Umani. I was a little lost with the food. The chicken gyoza was as expected, but the crab spring rolls were too deep fried for me. The deep frying took away from the flavor of the rolls. The staff was very kind and took the spring rolls off my bill without me even asking. A friend had the hangover roll. For me, it was a bit too much going on with the roll, but my friend enjoyed it. So I would say know what you are looking for. If you aren't into fried foods, stay away from items that are fried at Umani.

The spicy Ramen noodles were a flavor explosion, perfectly balancing heat and richness. The attentive staff elevated the experience with exceptional customer service, making sure I knew my dish was, in fact, a bit spicy. I also had the chance to explore their happy hour offerings, which featured drink specials and side dishes with the bold flavors. This restaurant seamlessly blends delicious cuisine with outstanding service. I will go back.

Great place to have Asian food and sushi. The atmosphere was nice. Lot of food options. Service could have been better. Food was reasonably priced. Java chicken and Thai Ramen with shrimp were my favorite. I would visit again.

Trendy spot. Great tuna kimchi poke - large chunks of tuna & generous with toppings. Polar opposite of the tacos - tiny bite sized apps half the size of a typical taco. The takoyaki was not what I expected either-mushy on the inside with micro bits of tako (octopus). They did offer a mil discount, so that's a plus. Next time I'll get the mie goreng. It was savory, the noodles were springy & the meat was tender.

Whenever my band plays in Birmingham we come here. Everything is amazing, I've tried most of the menu and have never been disappointed. Highlights: the nigiri is my go to. Especially the salmon belly, it's buttery and topped with amazing roe. The dumplings are also ordered every time. They are incredible and I never get less than 3 orders! Also worth noting the ramen, crispy octopus, and edamame. My buddy got the fiesta sushi, which was a crab roll on nacho chips with nacho cheese on top. It looked awesome!

Very good restaurant. Fresh sushi. Blue fin tuna sashimi melts in your mouth. Service was friendly and attentive. The pork belly and duck tacos were small but tasty. Definitely a place to eat when in town.
